January 11, 2018 was a special night for New Friends New Life as we celebrated the grand opening of our new Youth Resource Center in honor of National Human Trafficking Awareness Day.
New Friends New Life welcomed community partners, donors, supporters and board members to experience first-hand the YRC’s inviting culture and joyful ambience. Guests experienced the intimacy of the space and saw a true home for healing. Each piece of decor that surrounds the YRC was carefully handpicked to include vibrant colors and youthful designs, purposefully cultivating a safe place for girls to relax.
The significance of the Youth Resource Center is now more apparent than ever, with over 400 trafficked girls on the streets of Dallas each night. It’s because of your support that we are able to expand our efforts and continue fighting for women and girls in North Texas.
Thanks to a partnership with the Governor's office, New Friends New Life has yet another tool for impacting real change. Our goal is for the YRC to help us recognize, recover, and restore high-risk, exploited and trafficked girls through holistic, trauma-informed care. At the YRC, we not only provide physical safety to girls ages 12-24, but we also offer counseling, case management and life skills programming.
The Youth Resource Center’s mission is to walk alongside those who are seeking help to say, “We see you and you are not alone.”
