Community Outreach
Prevention
The counseling program of NFNL has partnered with ALERT ministries to provide services to female youth that are currently incarcerated with the Dallas Juvenille Detention Center. Staff and volunteers facilitate group counseling focused on abuse and provide education and resources for those experiencing commercial sexual exploitation.
Awareness and Community Education:
New Friends New Life is looking for opportunities to get the word out about our organization and bring awareness to the issue of commercial sexual exploitation. If you have a civic group, Bible study, book club, small group, business or social network that would be interested in hearing about a community effort to aid a marginalized sector of our society, we would appreciate a contact or booking.
NFNL Speaker Choices:
Irie Session, NFNL Protégé/Community Advocate and a Pastor of Rosemont Christian Church in Oak Cliff. Irie is a dynamic speaker with a compelling life story as well as a gift to articulate the work of NFNL.
Lauri Lanier, NFNL Protege Advocate. Lauri is a proven leader in recovery ministry who once lived the life of the women we serve.
Katie Pedigo, NFNL Executive Director. Katie has a passion for educating the community regarding the issue of exploitation and empowering individuals, churches, and businesses to find their place in being a part of the solution.
Protégé Leader Panel: Often we can accommodate a request for a panel of protégé leaders from NFNL to share their life experiences as well as their story of transformation. A staff member will help facilitate the discussion and sharing by the women on the graduate leadership team. Our protégé leaders have spoken at engagements to help train those working with women in the industry or coming out of the industry, to bring awareness to others about the life experience of those who have been commercially sexually exploited, and to offer insight into how NFNL helped them make the transition to a new life.
