For Women Wanting Out
The idea of change can be equally exciting and terrifying for women thinking about leaving prostitution, stripping, or escorting and coming to New Friends New Life. You will find women at New Friends New Life with experiences similar to yours. Below, program graduates reflect on their NFNL experiences.
“This is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to change your life, as well as your kid’s life. There is no retirement or 401k in dancing and prostitution. It will take hard work, but with the help of your new friends and God you can achieve your goals. I was a dancer for 7 years, I never thought I could get out. I felt trapped. I had no experience in the working world. But then I got involved with New Friends New Life and my whole life changed for the better. I now have a great job in an office, I got my GED, and best of all I’m going to college. If you stick with the program and truly want to change NFNL will help you. Without this program I would have been still wasting my life away. I realized I wasn’t getting any younger and I’m so blessed to have a bright future for me and my son.” –Melanie
“I realized I was so lonely and all the men made me feel worse. I was tired of being loved one hour at a time. The women at NFNL believe in me and encourage me constantly. I feel ‘visible’ finally and don’t feel like I have to search for love and attention. I know that God forgives me, doesn’t judge and loves me unconditionally as well as the women at NFNL.” –Gabriel
“To tell you the truth, I was scared to attend the support group of New Friends New Life. After the third meeting I finally started to feel comfortable. There are so many good things that have resulted from attending New Friends New Life and leaving prostitution.” -Libby
“This place helps fix the wreckage of my life.” -Leticia
Letter from New Friends New Life Advocates:
Your presence here lets us know you have a desire to change your life. Change is possible, but it can also be a scary process. The good news is that the staff at New Friends New Life is here to guide you through the process of change. Our staff will walk with you on your journey toward establishing a new life, because you are important!
Whether you’re dancing in clubs, working as an escort, or doing other jobs in the sex industry, we understand your situation and are here for you. We’ve helped women and their children for more than 13 years. When you come to Wednesday night meeting, you will find other women who have experienced similar struggles as you and who desire a new and fulfilling life. Our Wednesday night support group is an open and honest environment where you can be yourself without fear of judgment or condemnation – an environment of encouragement, love and accountability.
New Friends New Life is a faith-based organization and our Wednesday night support group involves Biblical teaching. However, we do not require you to believe as we do. We strive to teach that God loves and forgives you – no matter what – but we will not pressure you to believe any particular doctrine. We do ask that you be open to discovering a new view of God. This is important because many of the women we serve have expressed a distorted view of God due to working in the sex industry and other traumatic experiences.
So, if you’re ready to start a new life, we hope you will move beyond your fears and give us a call. You’ll work hard, but we’ll be there to help you. If you’ll stick with it, you can make it and you’ll make it with the help of other women, many of whom have walked in your shoes.
Hoping to see you soon,
