Volunteer

HOW YOU CAN HELP

Volunteers add value. . .
. . .No one knows this better than those of us who work full-time for New Friends New Life. We started as a group of women voluntarily helping a young woman leave the sex industry. Our board members voluntarily make sure we continue to function as an organization. Every week volunteers feed, counsel, teach, pray and care for all of us. Every year volunteers plan and implement special events that support us financially. It would be impossible to do the work we do without volunteers.

Compassion is the place to start but….
another way to support New Friends New Life is to give to the program financially. New Friends New Life has been privileged to serve women leaving the sex industry since 1998 and this is only because churches, civic organizations, foundations and individuals have recognized their part in building a strong community NFNL is currently in several area church budgets, individual family budgets and continually courting grants and foundations to further the work of creating a sustainable life for our women and children.

Interested in supporting NFNL financially – check out some of the opportunities below or call 214-965-0935.

How to Volunteer
Schedule a Visit on Wednesday Night – The first step to volunteer with New Friends New Life is to visit on Wednesday Night and get the feel of the organization and those we serve. At this visit you can talk with staff, protégés and other volunteers about the program. Seeing the program in action often gives volunteers a better idea of what New Friends New Life is about and of where they want to serve. You may schedule a visit by calling the New Friends New Life office at 214-965-0935.

After you visit Wednesday Night, you may request an application packet, which includes a New Friends New Life brochure, a background verification release form and a volunteer information sheet.

Clear Background Check – Dependent on clear background verification, you will be contacted by the Program Director to schedule an orientation.

Volunteers Orientation – At your scheduled Volunteer Orientation, you will meet the New Friends New Life staff, hear about our program requirements and guidelines and explore your interests in volunteering.

Any training necessary for your position will be scheduled at this time.
