New Friends New Life Women’s Program – A Path to Positive Change

Recent surveys have shown that 89% of women working in the sex industry want to leave, but don’t have the resources they need to make a transition*. That’s where New Friends New Life comes in – we offer several key programs to help women make a fresh start and be positioned for success in their new lives.

The Women’s Program is the cornerstone of this important work; in 2014, 672 women were served by the program. Participants, also known as protégés, have the opportunity to receive the following benefits:

  • Financial support for basic living, including rent, food, and transportation while they search for a job or attend college

  • Budget coaching and parenting classes, to enable women to improve their financial stability and be a source of strength for their children

  • Continuing education and life-skills training at our Resource Center

  • Counseling and spiritual support, including participation in Wednesday Night Support Group meetings

New Friends New Life also provides spiritual support to incarcerated women through its Prison Outreach program, giving them opportunities to develop the internal strength they need to make positive changes in their lives.
