ALUMNI CIRCLE MISSION STATEMENT
Our mission is to realize our individual power, passion, and purpose. We seek to edify, empower, and encourage the women of New Friends New Life on their journey and let our collective light shine throughout the community.
The New Friends New Life Alumni Circle is made up of graduates of the NFNL Women’s Program. Alumni Circle Members serve as an organic, built-in focus group to ensure that NFNL always has survivors’ voices at the table. The women also serve as mentors and examples for those who are still enrolled in our program.
“New Friends New Life turned me into the
woman I never had the courage to be.— Alumni Circle Member”
Nikki Lockett, Alumni Circle Leader
Nikki Lockett is a survivor leader, advocate, and Adult Case Manager dedicated to empowering survivors of human trafficking to reclaim their lives and futures. After overcoming homelessness and exploitation, Nikki began her healing journey through New Friends New Life (NFNL), where trauma-informed support transformed her life and ignited a lifelong commitment to advocacy and service.
Nikki has played an active role in survivor-led advocacy through her involvement with the Human Trafficking Survivor Leadership Council (HTSLC) and as a Survivor Support Group Leader with Hands of Justice. She contributes to community education and prevention efforts, including participation in The STOP Program, which works to reduce demand for commercial sexual exploitation by educating participants on the realities and impact of human trafficking. Nikki is also a sought-after panelist, using her lived experience to educate communities, challenge misconceptions, and elevate survivor voices.
Today, Nikki serves on staff at NFNL, where she supports women as they rebuild safe, independent, and sustainable lives. She has also accepted the role of the NFNL Alumni Leader. Blending professional expertise with lived experience, she provides compassionate case management, mentorship, and survivor-centered leadership. Nikki’s powerful story of resilience, restoration, and hope inspires systemic change while reinforcing her belief that healing is possible and every survivor deserves the opportunity to thrive.
