Human trafficking is modern-day slavery, and it is happening in our communities.
In 2010, President Barack Obama declared January National Slavery and Human Trafficking Prevention Month. Today, January is recognized nationwide as Human Trafficking Awareness Month, with #WearBlueDay serving as a visible reminder that awareness is a critical first step toward prevention and intervention.
Wearing blue is a simple but powerful way to stand with victims and survivors and to start important conversations within our families, churches, and communities.
HUMAN TRAFFICKING IN NORTH TEXAS
A Local Crisis
300,000 youth are at risk of trafficking each year in the United States
Texas ranks #2 in the nation for reported human trafficking cases
In the DFW area, an estimated 400 young people are trafficked on any given night
These are not just statistics, they represent real people, real families, and real lives.

This year, the North Texas Cluster of The Links, Incorporated, is taking a collective #StandForHer to elevate awareness and advocacy across North Texas.
